MESSAGE
On assuming the huge responsibility of 1st Vice- Chancellor of Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management (Argucom) at Sivasagar, Assam, I take the privilege of seeking co-operation, association and participation from all Co-operators, Co-operative administrators/ employees, Co-operatives/ SHGs, N.G.Os, academician, students, parents and all those concerned with co-operative movement in the country. The University sets its goal to become a centre of excellence in education, research and training for the promotion of well-managed Co-operatives. What father of the Nation M. K. Gandhi said long back, “Co-operation is the gateway to economic freedom” is particularly true in respect of poorly managed and disadvantaged groups in the society.

This specialised, non-affiliating, corpus University in the eastern part of the country is expected to shed light to usher a new era in Co-operative movement. I along with my colleagues will leave no stone unturned to fulfil the long, difficult but challenging agenda ahead of us.
